It is great to see artwork in the frontpage of DeviantART that is not the typical plague created by Japanese influence.
I like anime and such, but really... overkill.

But I digress.
The first point that caught my attention was the roughness of the piece, from unusual weapons (when most people think duels, it's usually a swordfight or a western shootout) and apparent lack of protective garment, which leads to a figure of cavemen, rather intriguing.

The scenery is grandiose, waterfalls provide a sense of detachment, the deafening noise at the bottom of the falls pushes the two duelists to ultimate focus.

Their poses are great, the water splashes are done beautifully.
Some things detract from the piece, great elements that would be better used if they were two separate pieces. The waterfall splash against the rocks and the duelists' dark silhouette would be a great piece in it's own, as well as the sun on the rocks at the bottom has a dramatic effect that is somewhat lost given the size of the piece and the separation of elements, the warriors being under the shadow of the mountain/cliff.

Overall, it is a great piece, the brush strokes seem like the speed paint sort to me, rough coloring and details, smudged outlines, etc, all in all, it has a rough charm.
