This is digital, painted using Photoshop. However the basic process is not very different from a traditional painting.

This is very interesting to see! But I'm afraid that, even with step by step directions, I shall never be able to paint (or even draw, really) the way you do. How's about I stick to letting my overactive imagination run wild with the stories for final paintings :D lol

I have an 8-page list of point after point things not to forget when illustrating, gleaned from reading and studying -- and I fear to pull it out sometimes because it's so daunting. Seeing this reminds me how much I need to use that list until its all internal and reflexive. Thanks for taking the time to write this up.

Again, I love your use of color. The sunrise palette was a perfect choice! I also enjoyed your pointer on using horizontals in the foreground to balance out all the vertical lines. I know I learned that in Design I, but the concept never stood out. Props for showing me how it can be utilized!! :3
