Sky Puffs by Wildweasel339 Sky Puffs by Wildweasel339
The is a concept of a sci-fantasy creature that floats in a planet's atmosphere; commonly referred to as "Sky Puffs".

Filled with a gas lighter than air, they are carried around by the wind. While they do have wings, they are only good for stability, not propulsion.

...
This is the very beginning of visual development for a personal sci-fantasy story. Much more to come :)

NASA has been talking about these guys being possible on Jupiter in our solar system.

I wish I had something more pertinent to say, but... they're sooooo cute! :D

The concept reminds me of the "living gasbag" creatures in Jupiter's atmosphere in 2010: A Space Odyssey.

Yeeeeeeeesssss SCI-FI.
I'm excited!
Too bad these guys look like they'd pop if you tried to hug them.

It evokes some lost memory about a Mushi, a creature from an anime/manga called Mushishi. Not that they look alike, I think this one isn't seen on the story, it's some kind of creature that floats really high and "fish" with a white string, taking creatures (and sometimes people) to the sky.
It makes me want to rewatch the anime. :3

Oh darn, I've never seen that but it is sickeningly similar in shape. Oh well... :/

Thanks

Do not worry, it's hard to come up with something original these days, but we try. And even if they look alike, the concept is completely different.

I say nice job :icongreatjobplz:

I was wondering where have I seen a hexagonal-like critter before :slow: But I suppose the fact I didn't even consider Shellgon until seeing this comment makes it just different enough =p
